How to choose the right template bundle size for your project

Picking a bundle size is not about buying the biggest one you can afford. It's about matching your actual project scope, timeline, and reuse plan. Here is the framework we use when clients ask.

1. Count the distinct page types you need

Most sites reuse a small set of layout patterns. A typical small business site uses 4 page types: home, about, services, contact. A larger site adds pricing, portfolio, blog, blog post, category, and legal pages. Count what you actually need before picking a bundle.

2. Add 30% for reuse across future projects

If you're a freelancer or agency, the bundle is not just for this project. Buying 25 templates for one project usually means you'll reach for 6-8 of them again on the next project. Buy for the pipeline, not the single job.

3. Match the industry mix

If you build for restaurants and health/fitness clients, a bundle heavy on landing pages and portfolios wastes money. Ask for a curated selection that leans into your actual client mix. Custom quotes exist for exactly this.

4. Bundle-size rule of thumb

  • Starter (25 templates) - one-project freelancers, side projects, small business owners building their own site
  • Growth (30 templates) - freelancers with 5+ active clients, small agencies handling diverse work
  • Studio (40 templates) - agencies delivering monthly, teams needing coverage across every industry
  • Custom Quote - anything above 40 templates, specialty categories, or very specific project briefs

5. When in doubt, quote it

A quote costs you nothing and takes 24 hours to come back. If you're spending more than 15 minutes wondering which fixed bundle to pick, just send us the brief. We'll size it exactly.

The mistake most people make

Buying too small and hitting the ceiling on template #22 mid-project. Refund and re-buy costs you a full day of workflow interruption. Buying one size up is almost always the right call.
